Executive function is how your brain helps you stay organized, make good choices, manage your time, and get things done. These skills help you plan out what needs to be done and figure out the steps to finish a project or task.
When someone has trouble with executive function, they might find it hard to plan, stay organized, or finish things on time. They might lose things often, focus on the wrong
tasks, or feel stressed when something feels too big or complicated.
As an educator for 30 years, Lane understands the unique challenges that adolescents face with respect to executive functioning skills. Lane is a former middle and high school
English teacher and currently works with teachers newly entering the profession. She holds a Masters in Education and a certification in mentoring. Lane works to build relationships with adolescents and parents and helps to identify both strengths and areas to improve. Once those areas are established, personal action steps, strategies, and goals are developed.
