Joy Lisea
MSMFT; Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy
Over the past several years, Joy has worked in many different roles around the country. She became acutely aware of how difficult it can become when people start to become stuck in patterns or emotion that feels like a never-ending spiral. Through working with young adults, adolescents, children, and families, Joy has felt so honored to be able to walk alongside her clients as they journey through the tricky terrain that is life.
Studying Marriage and Family Therapy has allowed Joy to utilize her skills to help individuals and families. She is passionate about working with people experiencing grief, relationship issues, transition, anxiety, parenting issues, and self-esteem issues.
Joy also enjoy working with neurodivergent individuals. She desires to create a safe and nurturing, yet appropriately challenging, space for each client with hopes to help them achieve their goals for treatment.

Approach to Counseling
My approach to therapy comes from a relationship-centered approach. I enjoy incorporating self-esteem building, strengths-based approaches, grounding practices, as well as play therapy with younger clients. I draw from many approaches, including Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, DBT and CBT. I take a holistic approach when collaborating with each client making sure that we are paying attention to each aspect of their life.
