MMFT, Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy

Marianne Tan

Following a career in the animation industry, my personal experiences in therapy led me to pursue a path in mental health. Through this transition, I developed a strong passion for supporting individuals in their healing journeys — particularly those affected by trauma, including complex trauma and religious or spiritual abuse.

I approach this work with the belief that every individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are understandable within the context of their lived experiences. My aim is to provide a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their histories, make meaning of their experiences, and move toward healing and personal growth.

My practice is grounded in trauma-informed care, and I am committed to creating an affirming space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered. Whether you are processing past trauma, navigating anxiety or depression, or seeking greater clarity and connection with your authentic self, I am here to walk alongside you in that process.

I am currently practicing under the supervision of Miller Folk, LMFT (TN license 1381)

Approach to Counseling:

My counseling approach is integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Person-Centered Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices. I am also a Phase Two Brainspotting clinician and utilize this modality to support clients in accessing and processing deep-rooted emotional pain and trauma. I believe therapy should be tailored to the unique needs, strengths, and goals of each individual. I work to ensure that you feel safe, understood, and supported as we navigate your healing process together.
